The Mansions by the sea was built in 1980 and it is located in Treasure Island Florida at the end of Sunset Beach. Mansions by the Sea is a gated community and consists of two "Towers" Yes, over here we call a 12 story building a tower.  Building A (street number 7650) sits directly on the beach, building B (street number 7600) is just a few feet south of it and set back by maybe 100 yards from the beach. Both buildings of Mansions by the Sea offer wonderful views onto the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway and Blind Pass.

 The units are really nice and very spacious and a one bedroom has at least 1015 sf. with huge balconies. A two bedroom unit in Mansions by the Sea could be 1510 heated square feet, also with nice size balcony. The corner units have huge wrap around balconies with 180 degree view onto the water. Right now asking prices range from $265,000 for a one bedroom to $999,000 for a 10th floor 2 bedroom 2 bath corner unit. Between the two Mansions by the Sea towers we have a total of 144 units.

Amenities are heated swimming pool, tennis courts, a gym, game rooms and a sauna. Now let's talk about location. Like I said, Mansions by the Sea is on Treasure Island at the end of Sunset beach, honestly, can it get any better than this? The maintenance fee is about $400 a month and you can rent a unit between $1500 to $4500 per month depending on the size and time of the year. Pets are not allowed in Mansion by the Sea.

A walk on the beach, Sunset beach in Treasure Island

I took a long walked on Sunset beach the other day and I figured for all you guys that do not have a chance to be here in Treasure island and enjoy the beautiful weather and the beach, I will take some pictures and share them with you.                                                                                                    

                              This is Lands end on Sunset beach, a beautiful condo community that has a resort style feeling to it. Units sell for around $650,000 and up on the beach site. It is a great vacation property.

This it the beach just north of Lands end, you can walk and walk and walk, this part of the beach never gets crowed.

Seagulls, they are not my best friends because they have a habit of stealing my food, but they were not interested in me today, something, who know what, caught their attention and all of them were starring in the same direction. . . .go figure.

I love this part of Sunset Beach, you have beautiful sand and blue water and these old homes hidden in Pine trees. Very romantic and relaxing. This is one of the best waterfront we have in Treasure Island. Real Estate dreams.

By the way, they sell for 2 million plus.

Well, this one is the newest construction we have on Sunset Beach here in Treasure Island. It is a 4 unit complex with a pool. The price tag on this one is around $1,100,000 for a roughly 2000 sq condo. In the background you can see the Sunset beach Dunes, a 6 units condo complex with the most beautiful views you can find up and down the beach, At the moment there is one unit for sale. 1400 sf direct waterfront asking $720,000

Concrete driveway from property line to property line. How do you get your sign up?

There is NO way to put a post in the ground without damaging a new driveway of a $1,600,000 waterfront  home, at least that is what I was told.

Well, here is my solution, I admit, it does not look too great,                                                           but it is much better than having NO sign at all.

Right now we have three different listings on Sunset beach. They are all unique in their own way. The Bay House and the Beach House and the Beach Lot

Sunset beach is a very cute community, all kinds of people live here and Sunset beach also features all kinds of different properties. There is nothing "uniform" about Sunset Beach real estate.

This Island is long but very narrow, on the east side you have the Blind pass waterway and on the west side you have the Gulf of Mexico. Lands end is a condo community right on the southern tip and it has a resort style feeling to it. Next to Land's end is Mansions by the sea, two "high rise towers" both communities are gated.

There are a few other small condo complexes but the rest of Sunset beach is single family homes.

The first home, we call it the "Bay Home" that we are featuring today is as unique as its location.

It is a huge home right on the Blind Pass waterway, but at the same time only 3 walking minutes away from the beautiful white beaches. Where else could you possibly find this?

The house is only a few years old and has an interesting floor plan,  It could be a 7 bedroom 7 bathroom home with a 5 car plus garage or it could be the perfect 3 bedroom 3 bath with a 3 bedroom 3 bath mother in law suite and a huge  bonus room.

Ok. I agree, this sounds a little confusing, but once you see it for yourself, it will make perfect sense. It is high quality construction and has gorgeous hard wood floors, high ceilings and huge picture windows. There is a lot of natural light and the views you have are just incredible.

You can actually watch the sun rise over Tampabay and see the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. This home is perfect for a large family or a group of people that want to share a vacation home. The whole has is updated and remodeled and you feel like you are on a Caribbean island when you walk in. Vibrant colors combined with lots of wood and high ceilings create a warm and cozy feeling.

Sunset beach is a very special place here in Treasure Island;

Fay, like many other storms do not want to visit Pinellas county and that is just wonderful.

Here in St. Petersburg, we did not even get one rain drop while the rest of Florida got more rain than we could have imagined in our wildest dreams.

These are pictures that I took in Sunset Beach Treasure Island on Tuesday 8/19/08 while Fay was north east of us.

I could not help it, temptation was to big, I had to skip work for an hour and go down to the beach. The wind and the clouds were scary but at the same time, it was beautiful to feel mother nature.

Sunset Beach, what a wonderful little piece of the world.

Right here in Tampabay, Treasure Island.

Sunset Beach is the most southern tip of Treasure Island.

It is very narrow and long.  In Sunset Beach you have the Gulf of Mexico on the west side

and Blind Pass waterway on the east side.

There is a Seven Eleven on the entrance to Sunset Beach and beautiful gated condo community called "Land's End" on the end of Sunset beach.

In-between you have smaller condo complexes, single family homes, rental apartments, duplexes, and last but not least Mansions by the Sea, the "Two Towers"

Sunset Beach is very special and diverse and therefore attracts a unique group of people.

You find everything and everybody from $25,000 yearly income

to Millions for yearly income.

Here on Sunset beach you have the blue collar worker living right next to the financial guru, doctor or lawyer. Here are some houses that you will find on Sunset beach.

Sunset Beach has a great beach bar "Caddy's on the Beach" It is a wonderful place to spend the day and enjoy the water and the sun.
My favorite day to go to "Caddy's" is Sunday, it just feels like a one day vacation. I usually get out of the house around 11am and I make a one mile detour to go and get my coffee at Starbucks, than I head over to Sunset beach, parking is never a problem, they have a huge parking lot and also valet parking. I pay my $5 and get a coupon for a drink. Than I grab my beach bag and find a nice spot right in the sand, within minutes one of the "chair guys" arrives and brings me a nice and comfortable lounge chair. Within the next hours or so (they are always late) my friends arrive and they get the chairs too and we just talk about our week for a while until the first one gets thirsty. Off we go to the roof top deck (the new rooftop deck is a fantastic addition to watch the sunset or see the afternoon storms roll in) or we stay downstairs and listen to some music while we have a nice cocktail (or sodas). Later on we go back to our chairs, talk a little more, go swimming and sometimes even order drinks right on the beach. All of a sudden it is 3 pm and everybody is hungry, well, not a problem, we are on Sunset beach and Caddy's has a nice little menu. After lunch we go back for more of the same, lounge chair, talking, swimming sun all that good stuff. Most Sundays we stay till about an hour before sunset, than we move to the "big" Treasure Island beach to see the sunset and listen and dance to the "Bongos". If you enjoy this kind of music and like to be in the "Caribbean mood" (that's what I call it) you have to come by one day. It is awesome. Lots of people, fantastic atmosphere and fun fun fun. After this we might go to Ricky T's and have one more drink (or soda) before we all head home again.
Anyway, (I get sidetracked here) back to Sunset beach.

Sunset Beach is my favorite place to go swimming; I love the little romantic beach accesses and the benches hidden by Pine trees.     The shoreline of sunset beach to me is the nicest one in our area. You have the sandy beach, natural vegetation, some small dunes, single family homes that were built 80 years ago next to the brand new mansion and a few parks in between. The beaches of Treasure Island but especially Sunset Beach never gets crowed. (ok on 4^th of July and Labor day) So, you can take long walks all the way up to Johns Pass or you can just fish, or lay out in the sun or swim, or play ball on the beach or bring your kite or surf board. A lot of people on Sunset Beach are very creative and they show it on their property, you will find the most unique mail boxes and little signs and all kinds of stuff.
