Gecko fest in Gulfport Fl.

The 10th Annual Gulfport Gecko Fest is set for Saturday, September 4^th, 2010.  This FREE Event sponsored by the Gulfport Merchants Association, The City of Gulfport and The Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg Times, Bright House Networks, GEICO, and Zhu-niverse and is a full day of fun for everyone.  This whimsical send off to summer is like Mardi Gras meets the Renaissance, and brings together strolling street performers, main stage performers, performing artists and vendors with all types of weird and wonderful wares up and down Beach Blvd. Over 200 arts, craft and food vendors will be in attendance at this year’s event!

Zhu-universe will sponsor the children’s area with inflatable habitat trails, human hamster wheel, 6 set obstacle course, Nintendo DS Hand held systems, Wii kiosks, photo opportunities, Zhu Zhu Pets and Kung Zhu Product and accessories showcase, give-a-ways, ID clips, Music and more!

Join the o-FISH-al GECKO Goddess and the Gecko Court along with Kim Magic and other roving characters, who will be roaming the streets and entertaining the crowds!
Live entertainment will be provided on two main stages from noon till 10 p.m.

Don’t forget this is an audience participation event especially the parade (6pm…think Renaissance meets Mardi Gras: wacky, noisy, and costumed!) with adults & children’s costume contests and a hat contest at the end. Additional activities include Sidewalk Chalk Art, Face Painting, Dance lessons and much more.

The day culminates in Gulfport’s famous -STREET DANCE at 8:00 pm! Bring your dancing shoes, and help celebrate our 10th Anniversary!

I had been to Bellini's a few times and really enjoyed it, never made it to their restaurant till last week.

I did not know what to expect, I have been in Brazil and I have been to a couple of Steak houses there, so I had my expectations,  but a Brazilian steakhouse in Gulfport Florida run by a German guy?

Well, I was open minded about it and I am glad I went.

Very refreshing and different dinning experience.

Go check it out, it is realty nice and the food is great.

Gulfport has come a long way since I moved to St Pete 14 years ago

and it is still moving up and up and up.

It is a wonderful little town with lots of creative minds, great restaurants and bars and lots of art stores.

As a Realtor I watch all neighborhoods in St Petersburg very closely and next to downtown St Pete, Gulfport has made the biggest step, where Madeira beach for example was a great little fishing town 14 years ago, and still is. Yes, a few changes but nothing major.

Different in Gulfport - they made a huge step forward, it is not a "diamond in the rough" anymore, it is a beautiful gem stone now. I am very glad to see all this creativity and enthusiasm. I love to go there in the evening, stroll around, go to some stores, sit outsite have a drink, pick one of the good to upscale restaurants, have dinner, and take walk along their waterfront.
