Soooooooooo important, we all know that but do we all realize that the " first impression " doesn't just happen when we meet each other for the first time? Nowadays with all our social media and internet, the "first impression" usually happens before you actually see the buyer or the seller.

You website could be the first impression or your blog or your facebook page or a phone call or e mail. You see where I am going with this. Knowing how important the "first impression" is in our job,

Do you have all your bases covered?

Do you always answer the phone with a smile on your face?

Do you update your website on a regular base?

Does your blog look professional?

I commented on a post from Leslie Helm this morning and I got inspired to raise the old question again.

So, how important is it to dress "professionally?

What does that actually mean?  "Dress professionally" We do not have a dress code in our office and trust me I thought about it more than once. In the end I decided that I rather have my agents be themselves, dress in cloth they feel comfortable in. I do not believe that dressing professional shows who you are as a Realtor. The knowledge you have, the skills you have, the way you treat your clients, your attitude, all of this is more important than the "right" dress. I have sold a million $ property in Jeans and T shirt and my clients think the world of me.

So, in my company if you want to dress "UP" you can if you don't want to, no problem either.

Some agents need the "professional dress" every morning so they can slip in their "role" other wear it because it simply reflects their professional attitude.

What do you do?

Do you dress the same way every day you go to work?

Has the "dress" helped or hurt you in your business?

So, how important is it to dress "professionally?

When is the best time or day to send out an e mail newsletter?

Is there a good and bad time to send out your e mail newsletter?

Should it be on the weekend so people are at home and have time?

Should it be on a week day when people are in the office and checking their e mails?

Morning or afternnoon or evenings?

Is Monday better than Friday or is Tuesday the perfect day?

Keeping in touch with real estate buyers and sellers in St. Petersburg Tampabay.

I cannot speak for the whole country but here in St. Petersburg Tampabay the real estate market and how you do business has changed a lot over the last few years. Buyers find you on the internet and not in magazines anymore, sellers compare realtors and their web presence online before they call you for a listing appointment.                                                                                                                 

Knowing this, finding new clients is relatively easy the challenge is staying and keeping in touch with real estate buyers and sellers in St. Petersburg Tampabay. People that you have sold a house to years ago, a lead that came in 9 month ago, a renter that might be ready to buy soon etc. I found that one of the best ways is to send out a newsletter every month. A custom made newsletter, written by me, the Realtor, about the St. Petersburg Tampabay area.                                                                                                    I talk about local news, changes in the real estate market, home and condo sales statistics, local events, computer tips, household tips and I also include a link to a post that I have written or a page on my website.

I e mail this newsletter to everybody I have ever met and I also post this newsletter on one of my blogs.

Been doing this for about 2 years now and so far I have only very positive feedback for buyers, sellers, old leads, friends and other prospects.  I get stopped at the local  coffee shop someone thanking me for my newsletter, I run into someone I have not seen in ages and they tell me that they LOVE my newsletter, leads that are long forgotten call a year later saying thank you for keeping in touch, we are now ready to buy and one goes the list.                                                                                                                 I also include links to my posts in snake mail letters that I send to my farm area.

When I get an e mail inquiry about a neighborhood or condo association that I once wrote a post about I include the link in my e mail response.

I am looking forward to see more ideas that will help me keeping in touch real estate buyers and sellers in St. Petersburg Tampabay.

Real Estate is a NUMBERS game.

Active Rain is working great for me to find buyers and sellers here in St Petersburg Florida, but there is one group that I just have a hard time reaching and these are German buyers and sellers. I am German and speak the language and I am a Realtor.

Most Germans that come here to buy a second home or have property here in St. Pete do not speak the language too well and therefore will never read my "English posts" Also, the Germans search on Google.de not Google.com.

So, here are my questions or questions

Does active rain allow to post in a different language and will it even make sense since it is Google.com that loves AR.

If I can write in German on AR will it be found on Google.de?

Has anybody tried this?

What is your input on this?

Any suggestions?
