Are Realtors "Second class people"?

Think about it, I do not think that NAR is not doing much if anything to help his Realtors. We the Realtors, Mortgage brokers, Appraisers, etc. with all our face book, Twitter, My Space account, can we get organized and help ourselves and therefore the housing industry?

Ok, maybe I am daydreaming. You tell me.

What is in store for us? Where is this market taking us? What changes do you see in the future?

One change I see, that nobody is talking about, is "Sales teams" verses the one man show. Let's be honest. What you have to do in today's market to advertise and market a listing, to keep your clients informed, to deal with the paperwork etc. is a lot of work and very time consuming. Also, clients want your immediate attention and they are not willing to wait for an answer. If you have a buyer and show property all day long, you can not really pay attention to anything else.

So, I think that we will see more and more teams that share the "job" and also we will see more specializing. Realtors will focus more than ever on representing either sellers or buyers, but not both.

Years ago, you would just hire an assistant, but with commissions going down, home prices going down, bottom line per transaction much lower than a before,  there is just not enough money for most Realtors to hire help.
