Properties, Houses and Condos for Sale in St Petersburg Treasure Island Florida

The treasure Island parade was great.

The first thing that actually put me in the Christmas spirit this year.

I was invited to a friend's house here in Treasure Island to watch the Boat parade.

She lives right on one of the points in Isle of Palms.

We could see the boat come through the bridge

and than they made a U turn right in front of us.

There were 54 something boats, all lit up very pretty.

A couple of them stuck out (to me)

Like dolphins pulling Santa's sled

or a shark with his jaw moving in the back on one boat,

one had pelicans pulling the sled.

And one of the little boats was just too funny,

doing "donuts" to Christmas music.

Thank you Treasure Island and to all these people

who put an effort in decorating their boats

and making this parade possible.

We, the Realtors are paying fees to submit our listings to the MLS system.

This was great in the past, it was convenient, time saving and easy for us,

We, and only we, had access to all the listings.

Buyers had no way of finding properties other than by signs.

Today they find all the listings on the internet.

The information we submit to the MLS is  forwarded, sold or. . .

to "public" sites that everybody can access.

On top of this, we the Realtors spend additional time and money to advertise on websites like Homes.com etc.

Something is wrong in this picture.

We actually pay for buyers to find property themselves.

Are we cutting ourselves out of the deal?

What is the future of the MLS system?

What do we need it for other than  "showing instructions"?

 Search  single family, condos, vacation homes or investment properties for sale in Florida.

Websites like Zillow or now Cyberhomes.com?

Times have changed; today's buyers and sellers have educated themselves via the internet before they contact a Realtor.

A few years ago a thought crossed my mind

 "If buyers and sellers can find all the information they need on the internet, will they even need a realtor in the future?" I really did not know the answer.

 Now it is very clear.

Buyers and sellers need Realtors more than ever.

It is unbelievable how much information you can get on the internet in a short time, but it is also unbelievable how confusing all this information can be.

Not just confusing but simply wrong.

My favorite is always the Home values that are quoted.

How on this earth can a WEBSITE possibly make a price suggestion on a home?

By  "numbers only"  How about the golden faucets and granite countertops, does that count for nothing?

Well, long story short. Our profession is more important than ever.

Someone got to sort out this mess of information.

Don't read this if you are looking for an ordinary lot. This vacant land is a piece of paradise, a wonderful spot right on the beautiful Lake Rousseau. Go fishing right in your back yard, drive your boat up the rainbos river, and spend a day in the natural preserve, go to the springs and watch the manatees. Come ot Crystal River and escape the hectic lifestyle of the City!
